Are you aware what the greatest enemy you and I face today is? If I were to ask I am sure I would get a plethora of answers. It is not terrorism. It is not drug lords. It is not cancer. It’s not high blood pressure. Or heart disease. It is not even obesity. Are you ready? It is ignorance! That’s right. What we do not know is killing us. Or, it at least is depriving us of life to its fullest measure. God Himself was concerned enough about this particular enemy because he had one of His men write about the subject. Listen to His verdict that He renders to a man by the name of Hosea. God told him, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6 KJV).
There are three types of people in the world today. One, there is the natural man. or I could say a flesh man. This person is controlled by their five senses. Their entire life is wrapped up in what they can see, feel, hear, taste and smell. Secondly, there is a carnal man. This person is controlled by their feelings and circumstances. If everything around them is going great, they are great. If everything is falling apart, they fall apart. And they are unaware that they could speak into their situation and change it by the power of their words. The third person is a spiritual person. Someone who has God in their life. This person knows who they are in Christ. Knowledge of the Word of God is taking root in their spirit man. They know from where God has lifted them from and they just are not going to take his garbage any more.
What I write about is not mind over matter. It is what faith, mixed with the power of the word of God inside a person, can do in their life. To be honest it is having a mind transforming experience! “So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out…” (Romans 12:2 The Message) Did you read what Paul wrote? That part that states, “fix your attention on God”. Or, as the original translation of that verse states, “ …be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
It is a fight I know. Most of us have lived so long in the natural that it is hard to think in the supernatural. We have accepted what someone else has said about us rather than what God has said about us. We have been trained on the inside of our life to believe the opinions of men more than the opinions of a Heavenly Father. I know. I once was one of those people. I had a pig-pen mentality. I wanted the Father to accept me back into the fold, not as a son, but as a servant. I thought I did not deserve anything better. And someone reading this right now has believed the same garbage!!!!
Is it any wonder why the body of Christ suffers so today? We lack the knowledge of who we are in Christ Jesus!! We are in the exact place the devil wants us to be. He knows the moment our minds become transformed by the power of the Word of God his kingdom is in trouble. So, he keeps us in his grip. He wants us in the dark. He hates light. Why? Light exposes his tricks. So, from the pulpit to the pews ignorance flows and the enemy sits back and simply laughs at you and me.
It is time to change. No longer will I stay in ignorance. I’m sorry if that offends you, but I know who I am in Christ Jesus. I know from where He picked me. I am fully aware of His transforming work in my heart. And I know my position today. I am seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. That’s not pride. That’s the Word of God! Therefore, as one man recently said, “If the devil has a message to give to me he can write it on the bottom of my shoe and when I get the time I can read what he wrote”. Change your way of thinking. Start today. Start now. You are important. Stop living in ignorance of your rights in Christ. Draw on the reservoir of Heaven. You will never be the same!!!!!!
